Camp Shakespeare
Camp Sessions are filling quickly! This is not your typical day camp: our two-week acting-intensive invites young people ages 9-18 to explore a play and create dynamic characters from Shakespeare’s canon, culminating in a final on stage performance. Camp sessions run from June 18–August 11 with locations in D.C., Maryland and Virginia.

Tickets are still available for Carlo Goldoni's The Servant of Two Masters! Celebrate the end of the school year with your students, STC and Commedia! Identities are mistaken, engagements are broken and lovers are reunited in this comedic masterpiece.

Artist in the Classroom One Day Workshops and Extended Residencies use theatre techniques to actively engage students in an exploration of Shakespeare. Whether you are an elementary, middle or high school teacher, we can work with you to design a curriculum that meets your needs.

The SHAKESPEARIENCE Student Matinee Program is designed to increase access to classic theatre and the theatrical process for students and teachers in D.C., Maryland and Virginia. The program includes subsidized reduced-price theatre tickets, preparatory materials and in-school workshops. Supplemental materials are provided free of charge to all participants.

New Program Announcement: Young Company
Shakespeare Theatre Company’s newest training program, Young Company, is set to launch in Fall 2012. Comprised of teens from all over the greater Washington metropolitan area, Young Company members will engage in year-long, conservatory-style training in classical acting, attend live performances and perform at Sidney Harman Hall in Spring 2013. Text Alive! Season Announcement
Text Alive! is a free semester-long arts integration program that makes Shakespeare’s plays come alive through a performance-based teaching strategy. Public School English and Theatre Teachers for grades 9-12 in D.C., Maryland and Virginia are invited to apply!
The Fall 2012 Text Alive! program will explore A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
The Spring 2013 Text Alive! program will explore Coriolanus.
The program includes ten student workshops, four professional development workshops for teachers, a trip to a SHAKESPEARIENCE student matinee, and the Text Alive! Student Performance, where students perform a scene that they have designed and rehearsed on the Shakespeare Theatre Company Stage!
STC provides all the necessary materials, including teacher curriculum guides, classroom activities and scripts.
